The Matrice 4T gives you another way to assess a scene. Use thermal imagery alongside the visual cameras to investigate temperature differences and record areas for closer inspection. Thermal information adds context; interpretation still depends on the subject, conditions and inspection method.
For property and field work, discuss the target you need to find or inspect, the working distance and the conditions you expect. This helps establish whether the 4T is the right tool for your application.
The thermal camera captures native 640 x 512 imagery. Image enhancement can improve the displayed view, but it does not change the sensor’s native resolution.
Visual cameras help you move from an overview to a closer look, while laser rangefinding adds distance information. Use the images together to document a finding and decide where further investigation is needed.
Plan spare batteries and field charging around the number of flights you need. The optional AL1 Spotlight adds directed lighting, while the AS1 Speaker supports aerial audio communication.

The DJI Matrice 4T pairs thermal and visual imaging in one aircraft, built for inspection and search-and-rescue work. Its thermal camera captures 640 x 512 native resolution with 28x digital zoom. Three visual cameras round it out: a 48 MP wide camera, a 48 MP zoom camera and a 48 MP tele camera reaching 16x optical and 112x hybrid zoom. An integrated laser rangefinder adds distance measurement to any of them.
The 4T adds near-infrared illumination hardware and infrared super-resolution processing over the rest of the Matrice 4 series, built specifically for search and rescue work in low light. Built-in RTK positioning supports centimetre-level accuracy where corrections are available. The aircraft flies up to 49 minutes under DJI’s standard test conditions (windless, no payload, measured to 0% battery), so plan a safe reserve for real-world flights.
It pairs with the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller over O4 Enterprise transmission, and takes the AL1 Spotlight, AS1 Speaker and D-RTK 3 Multifunctional Station as optional accessories for night operations, on-site announcements or higher-precision positioning. DJI Care Enterprise Plus is included and auto-activated, subject to the plan’s terms.
