In 2017, our founder, James Warren, began using drones on a regenerative cattle property in Central Queensland. Initially using his first drone to muster cattle across rough blade ploughed country, soon led to also checking tanks and troughs, finding stock and getting a better view of what was happening on the ground. Drones soon became a working tool, and James saw an opportunity to help others implement them on their properties. East Coast Drones was started in 2021 as the use of drones expanded into agricultural spraying and mapping.
Over 5 years later we are based in Mundubbera and continue to provide agricultural aerial applications and supply DJI drones and parts to customers across Australia. Our own agricultural drone fleet operates throughout Queensland with a focus on woody weed and regrowth control, seeding and granular fertiliser application.
Aerial stock work still remains close to our roots, as we endeavour to help graziers put drone technology to work on their properties. Our Thermal Drone Mustering Packages are a popular go to integrate drones into their beef businesses.
It is important to us to help customers choose a drone that suits their needs, customising accessory packages and providing practical training to get started. DJI supports the use of technology on farm from mustering and mapping to aerial spraying and applications.
